We Love Wichita

Embracing Our Roots

“Our Prairie Home” reminds Berry Companies’ employees to take pride in the community where we operate. As a part of the 2015 art project called Keepers on Parade, our Kansas-themed replica of the larger Keeper of the Plains was thoughtfully designed by Barbara Haynes, wife of Berry Material Handling Training Manager Curtis Haynes.

“Our Prairie Home”

For Barbara, this Keeper represents the true essence of Kansas: the vast skies, the open spaces, and the prairie in its natural state. In addition to sunrises, sunsets, and constellations, Barbara depicted a herd of bison with spirit lines along the center of the statue, representing the inner strength of the animal as a nod to Kansans’ efforts to restore their presence on the land.

Our Other Installations

Three of our other Wichita locations have uniquely designed replicas of the beautiful Keeper of the Plains as well! Learn more about the Keeper statues at Berry Material Handling, Berry Tractor, and White Star Machinery.
